Notice of free replacement of magnetic detachable power cords (procedure description)

The power cord provided with some models of electric water boilers, microcomputer rice cookers, and induction heating (IH) rice cookers manufactured by Tiger between March 21, 2020 and February 20, 2022 were found to contain materials that do not conform to the technical standards stipulated in the Electrical Appliances and Material Safety Act.

Although no accidents have been confirmed to have occurred as a result of this issue at this time, we will begin replacing the power cords free of charge today.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to customers using the affected products. We ask that you follow the procedures described under either [1] or [2] below.
We recommend that you register online, as we anticipate delays when attempting to reach us by phone (using the toll-free number).

We apologize for the inconvenience as you wait for the replacement power cord to be delivered, but in the meantime, we ask that you take special care to ensure the following when using the product.
(1) If there is dust on the plug, please wipe it off before use.
(2) Please unplug the plug from the outlet after use.

You can call the following dedicated line for inquiries to check if your product is applicable and apply for a replacement.
First, please have the product you are using at hand to confirm that it is an applicable product by checking the power cord, product number, color, and production lot number using the procedure described below.

(1) Check the power cord.

1) The power cord is a magnetic detachable power cord that can be removed from the main body of the product.
2) No [Inspected] sticker is affixed to the appliance plug.
3) There is an “M” mark between the two prongs of the insertion plug.

• If all three of the conditions above apply, please proceed to step (2) for the procedure to confirm the product number and color.
• If any one of these three items do not apply to your product, please rest assured that it is not an applicable product.

(2) Check the product number and color.

Please check that the product number and color (indicated on the back) of your product matches one of the product numbers listed in the table below.

Applicable Products

• If the part number and color are on the list, please proceed to step (3) for the procedure to confirm the manufacturing lot number.
• If the part number or color is not on the list, please rest assured it is not an applicable product.

(3) Check the manufacturing lot number.

The manufacturing lot number consists of six or more digits or symbols on the bottom or back of the product, indicating when it was manufactured.

“Electric water boilers”
The lot number is printed on the model year sticker on the bottom of the product.

*Please make sure that there is no hot water in the container before checking the sticker.
If you turn the appliance upside down while hot water is inside, the hot water may spill and burn you.

“Rice cookers”
The lot number is printed on the model year sticker on the bottom of the product or on the sticker on which the product number is printed.

*Please make sure that the inner pot has been removed or that the inner pot is empty.
If you turn the appliance upside down while something is inside the inner pot, the contents may spill and burn you.

The first and second digits represent the manufacturing month, the third and fourth digits represent the manufacturing year, and the fifth and sixth digits represent the manufacturing date.
Please check the lot number and confirm that it corresponds to the applicable manufacturing period.
Starting from the left, only the first six digits, including zeroes, are the numbers to be checked.
