Tiger Corporation (President: Yoshisato Kikuchi, Headquarters: Kadoma, Osaka), a world leader in thermal control technology, will hold the “Tiger Retro Collection Celebrating 100 Years of Tiger Corporation” from June 21 to July 4, 2023 at Tsutaya stores in Daikanyama, Roppongi and Umeda, to commemorate the launch of the Retro Pattern Revival Series, the 100th anniversary model of the company.
In the 1970s and 1980s, floral and striped household items became a staple in the home, matching the needs of people who wanted to enjoy life more in the midst of economic growth. Colorful and pop colors and patterns added color to the daily dining table. The theme of the collection is “colors and patterns that make your heart dance on the dining table, The collection will display a total of 15 items from the new Retro Pattern Revival Series, along with retro sundries and books that recall the Showa period.
The Retro Pattern Revival Series is sold exclusively through the official Tiger online store (*1,2), so we have decided to hold this collection in response to the requests we received at the time of pre-order sales to see the products in person. (*3) The only opportunity to see the products in person is currently planned for the exhibition of this collection. We hope you will welcome the nostalgic yet somehow new “floral” and “striped” home appliances and vacuum cleaners into your daily life.

The 100th Anniversary Retro Pattern Revival Series includes a total of eight items: a rice cooker with a retro look, a hot plate, a steamless electric kettle, a VE electric vacuum bottle, as well as Tiger’s original vacuum insulated products—a stainless water boiler, two types of vacuum insulated bottles, and a vacuum-insulated food jar.
Since the announcement of the Retro Pattern Revival Series in April 2023, people have been saying, mainly on social networking sites, “I miss it. We had flower-patterned pots and electronic jars at home.” The floral pattern reminds me of my childhood.” I feel like I’m back in those days and want to use it again.” I want to use it again.
The bright and vivid poppy pattern was designed by Tatsuo Sekidome, a leading textile designer, and was very popular during the heyday of floral patterns in the 1970s, when sales depended on the quality of floral patterns. The orange stripe pattern appeared in orange, green, red, and other colors in the late 1970s, when there was a demand for cookware that would make kitchens and dining tables rich, colorful, and attractive spaces.
For this collection, we will be distributing a limited number of poppy-patterned book covers, since it is being offered at Tsutaya. Please enjoy the atmosphere of that time in the Showa era.

With only one switch button and two lamps (rice cooker/heat retaining), this simple electric 3-go rice cooker is reminiscent of the Showa era in that it’s compact in both function and shape.
Designed to cook white rice exclusively, this device cooks the rice for about 30 minutes (at full capacity) before automatically switching to the keep warm lamp, and after about 15 minutes of steaming, the rice is ready to be served. The compact body is equipped with a cord-reel type power plug for easy storage.

In 1980, the first Tiger electric water boiler was born. Although electric water boilers featuring floral and striped pattern have been available since that time, this revival series features the energy-saving features of Tiger electric water boilers that have continued to evolve since the Heisei era, such as the VE Vacuum Bottle Structure that provides superior heat retention through the use of a vacuum insulation layer on the side of the container, and the “Energy-Saving Course” that automatically lowers heat retention by five degrees if the water is not used for more than two hours.

Steamless Electric Kettle PCK-T060
The kettle boils a cup of water (approx. 140 mL) quickly in just approx. 45 seconds, which is the time taken after the switch is turned on before it finishes boiling automatically. (*1) In addition, the “steamless” structure prevents steam from being released, the lock function structure (*2) minimizes hot water leakage if the kettle is tipped over, and the handle that you grip when pouring is coated with an antibacterial finish for safety and peace of mind.
*1 The boiling time was tested at rated power consumption for one 140 ml cup of water with water and room temperatures of 23°C. Based on findings on household electric kettles as of April 2023.

Vacuum Insulated Stainless Water Boiler [Push Lever Type] PWO-T120
The revival series model is made of vacuum-insulated stainless steel. Compared with glass vacuum bottles, the stainless-steel pot with a double-walled vacuum structure is compact and eliminates worries about damaging the inner bottle by directly putting ice into it. With a wide opening of about 7.5 cm, large ice cubes can be dropped into it easily, and you can fit your hand all the way in, allowing you to wash it thoroughly. The lid can be removed with a single motion of pushing the open/close lever.

Our company’s history began in 1923 with the water bottles made by the Torajirushi (Tiger) Vacuum Bottle Company. Over the past century, we have continued to drive the evolution of our bottles in many ways, such as by switching from glass to stainless steel, as well as by reducing the weight and improving ease of cleaning for personal bottles, which have become more common for people to carry around due to increased environmental awareness.
This product features Super Clean Plus on the inside of the bottle to prevent stains and odors from sticking to the bottle. It features a mug-like “rim for smooth drinking” with the upper part curled.
