Tiger Corporation and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters collaborate to solve problems in sports spectatorship at stadiums! Days Watching Baseball with Tiger Bottles

Tiger Corporation (President: Yoshisato Kikuchi, Headquarters: Kadoma City, Osaka) (“Tiger” or “we”), a world leader in thermal control technology, will hold the “Days Watching Baseball with Tiger Bottles – Bring Your Own Bottle for the Environment” campaign in collaboration with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters for the series of three games to be held at Es Con Field Hokkaido from August 23 (Fri) to 25 (Sun). The aim is to encourage spectators to bring their own bottles to stadiums to drink from while watching sports games.

The problems that arise at venues where people watch sports include drinks getting lukewarm while watching the game, which is an issue for spectators, and lots of waste being left at the venue after the game, which creates trouble for organizers and operators.

After releasing vacuum-insulated bottles that can hold carbonated drinks such as beer* in January 2022, many customers shared their thoughts with us. Some said that they wanted to carry their bottle with them when they go to watch sports matches, as it allows them to put any drink they like in the bottle. Others opined that the bottle is perfect for carrying with them when they go to sports matches because it allows them to enjoy cold carbonated drinks at anytime.

Inspired by the opinions that our customers have shared with us, we have been making efforts since 2022 to encourage sports spectators to bring their own bottles to stadiums when they go to watch games. We will start working with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in 2023, and in 2024, we are running a project where the craft beer “Sora to Shiba Play Ball! Ale” will be discounted by 100 yen at the craft beer brewing restaurant “Sora to Shiba by Yona Yona Ale” in Es Con Field Hokkaido, only for those who bring a Tiger Vacuum Insulated Carbonated Bottle. During the three days of the second “Tiger Bottle Baseball Watching DAYS” this season, in order to allow more people to experience the comfort of watching the game with their own bottle, the first 100 people each day who bring a Tiger Vacuum Insulated Carbonated Bottle will receive a 500 yen discount on the craft beer “Sora to Shiba Play Ball! Ale”.

In addition, those who purchase a “Fighters x Sora to Shiba Vacuum Insulated Carbonated Bottle” during these three days will receive an organic cotton drawstring bag designed with “Efutan”, a teddy bear who lives in Hokkaido Ballpark F Village.

Going forward, Tiger Corporation will continue to deliver new value to society by focusing on issues surrounding sports spectatorship.

(2) Recycling used stainless-steel bottles

We have been installing collection boxes for used stainless-steel bottles as part of efforts toward achieving a circular economy for stainless-steel bottles.

Bring any used stainless-steel bottles that you no longer need from home (even those made by companies other than Tiger Corporation are accepted) and put them in the collection box installed at the Tiger Pop-up Booth. The collected stainless-steel bottles will be taken to a professional recycler. Then, from the gathered raw materials to be recycled, recycled stainless-steel materials and resin products will be produced.

*Plastic/aluminum bottles are not accepted for collection.
*Pouches supplied with stainless-steel bottles are not accepted for collection.
*Bring the bottles with the caps attached to the collection sites after thoroughly cleaning and draining them.
*Not all the products using the recycled stainless-steel materials are used for stainless-steel bottles.

Take a photo of you watching the game with a Tiger bottle and post it on social media with the hashtag #WatchBaseballGamewithATigerBottle. Among those who posted photos, five people will be selected by lottery to receive popular Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters goods.
