Tiger Charge Stations, the first water stations introduced at this year’s tournament, are also set up to provide water to players,The Tiger Charge Station,
the first of its kind in this year’s tournament, will be set up to help players play golf comfortably in the summer!

Tiger Corporation (President: Yoshisato Kikuchi, Headquarters : Kadoma City, Osaka Prefecture), a world leader in heat control technology 300 vacuum-insulated carbonated bottles MKB-T060 were provided to players and caddies at the Sansan KBC Augusta Golf Tournament 2024 held at Akutuya Golf Club in Itoshima, Fukuoka Prefecture from August 22 (Thursday) to August 25 (Sunday), 2024. This tournament, now in its 51st year, is one of the official tournaments of the Japan Golf Tour Organization, sponsored by Kyushu Asahi Broadcasting Corporation, which brings together the top players on the men’s tour in Japan.

Background of this initiative

Tiger Corporation is working to encourage people to bring their own bottles to sports games starting in 2022, and we hope that people will use Tiger bottles not only when watching games, but also during the time they spend working on their sports activities. When playing golf for long hours under the blazing sun, it is essential to hydrate to prevent heat stroke. However, the plastic waste generated by ped bottles and the fact that the bottles quickly become lukewarm were issues. Therefore, we have teamed up with “Sansan KBC Augusta Golf Tournament 2024,” which aims to manage the tournament in an environmentally friendly manner. Tiger bottles were provided to the players and caddies who supported them. In addition, three “Tiger Charge Stations” were set up, where players and caddies could fill up their water bottles at the water stations and stay hydrated with cold drinks for an extended period of time while playing.

Tournament Highlights

The tournament started on the first day, August 22, in a very hot day of 35.7°C (35.7°F). On the fourth and final day, Jinichiro Kouzuma won after a fierce playoff with Yuwa Kosaihira, marking his third win on the tour after a two-year absence. On the final day, a record 9,686 golfers, the largest number on the men’s tour this season, gathered to watch the tournament. Although it was extremely hot every day, the tournament ended with a greater number of visitors than last year.

Three “Tiger Charge Stations” were set up at which players and caddies could refill their drinks from the “Vacuum Insulated Carbonated Bottle MKB-T060 (0.6L),” one of which was provided to each player and caddie in advance.

To ensure comfortable play under the summer sun, two types of drinks, water and sports drinks, are available in the water tanks and in the putting practice area in front of the clubhouse according to the conditions of the tournament.

We are very happy to have played a role in the players’ performance.

We hope that the contestants will use the Tiger Bottle in various future occasions as a commemoration of this year’s competition. We also found future issues to be addressed, such as supporting an environment where players can concentrate on their play from the perspective of hydration, taking into consideration the size of the bottles, and increasing the number of water supply spots, while giving due consideration to players playing in the unimaginably hot conditions at the venue. Once again, we hope that people will use the Tiger Bottle to stay hydrated and improve their performance even during playing time when they are engaged in sports. By focusing on the issues involved in sports, Tiger Makuho Bottle will continue to provide new value to the world.
