Features

Triple-insulated structure (VE bottle structure, vacuum insulation material, heat-keeping structure)

(Conceptual image)

The electricity cost can be reduced by approx. 22,200 yen in three years, compared with our other microcomputer electric water heater!*1
Furthermore, the structure can keep the temperature at approx. 94°C even after two hours without electricity.*2

VE bottle structure:

VE is an abbreviation of vacuum electric.
The power-saving VE insulation is an economical method of keeping water warm using electric heating and the high-vacuum, double-walled bottle.
The high-vacuum, double-walled bottle (VE bottle structure/stainless steel) container has a structure that minimizes any loss of heat.

Vacuum insulation material:

Highly effective vacuum insulation material is used on the sides of the container to prevent heat dissipation around the container.

Heat-keeping structure:

While heat tends to escape from the top and bottom of the container for general electric water boilers, which are not covered with insulation, the special shape of the container of Tiger’s electric water boilers guards against loss of heat! Tiger’s exclusive high heat-retention structure*3.

*1 Comparison between PIG-H300 and Tiger’s PDR-G301 (microcomputer-controlled type without a vacuum bottle structure manufactured in 2024). PIG-H300: Approx. 6,200 yen, PDR-G301: Approx. 13,600 yen
Measurement based on the voluntary standard of the Japan Electrical Manufacturers’ Association (JEMA) (at room temperature of 23°C, boiling water twice per day and reboiling water once per day and keeping water warm at 90°C for 23 hours a day for 365 days a year; the other test conditions including water volume are based on the voluntary standard of JEMA HD-112), calculated based on the estimated electric utility rate of 31 yen/kWh (including tax). Electricity cost and power consumption per day may vary depending on conditions such as the ambient temperature in each season.

Double savings in time and electricity Energy-saving course (70, 80, 90, 98)

It boils water at the set temperature, saving time and electricity.
You can choose the temperature to suit your drink, further enhancing the good taste.

Energy-saving boiling:

When the water temperature reaches the set keep-warm temperature, boiling will stop. For example, the water temperature at the end of boiling in the case of the 90°C setting is about 90°C (in the case of keeping warm with vacuum insulation, the water is heated to approximately 98°C and then the heater will be automatically turned off).

Energy-saving heat retention:

When there is no key operation for 2 hours or more, the temperature will be kept 5°C lower than the set temperature (energy-saving keep warm temperature is 95°C when the set temperature is 98°C).

tea

For example,

80:
For ordinary green tea (sencha) Temperature to bring out delicate flavors. For ordinary green tea (sencha), you can bring out the soft aroma and umami component adequately while suppressing the astringency.

90:
For coffee This is most suitable temperature for manual brewing.
The temperature at which the unique bitterness, acidity, and sweetness of coffee can be extracted in the most balanced way.

A diverse range of power-saving menu settings

[1] Keeping warm with vacuum insulation course

The boiled water is kept warm by the insulation of the stainless-steel, double-walled, vacuum structure without using electricity.

[2] Power-saving timer

The power-saving timer settings are offered, and you can choose one depending on the time of day when you do not use the product, when you are out, or before you go to bed.
The heater is automatically turned off but the water is kept warm with vacuum insulation. The timer can be set at five levels of 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 hours, and the water will be boiled and then kept warm 1 hour before the timer runs out.

[3] Selection of temperatures for keeping warm

The temperature can be set at the desired level (98, 90, 80, 70). The lower the selected temperature is, the more money you can save on electricity.
You can choose the optimum temperature for the purpose of use, such as preparations before starting cooking or making some coffee or tea.

“Steamless” feature that is safe and eliminates worries about where to put the product

The steam-catcher structure* that allows steam to turn into water droplets and return into the water boiler, preventing steam from being let out. The structure eliminates the risk of getting scalded by accidental exposure to hot steam and eliminates worries about where to put the product.

*Steam may be emitted from the spout if water is boiled when the main body is warm, such as when boiling water multiple times in succession.
*Vapor volume is reduced, but this does not mean that no vapor is produced.

*Mechanism of the steam-catcher structure

[1] The steamless feature sensor to detect boiling water is incorporated.
The generation of steam when water boils is detected immediately to minimize further creating steam needlessly.

[2] The steam generated during boiling enters from the draw-in entrance and is caught in the steam catcher incorporated into the lid.

[3] The steam is cooled while passing through the cooling passage in the steam catcher.

[4] The cooled steam condenses and turns into water droplets, and then returns into the inner container through the passage.

Two ways to dispense hot water (lever-type electric-powered dispensing and cordless air dispensing)

Two ways of electric-powered dispensing and cordless air dispensing are available to dispense hot water. You can select two ways to dispense hot water: with one finger, using lever-type electric-powered dispensing; or at a place where there is no power source, you can use cordless air dispensing.
The cordless air dispensing feature allows you to dispense hot water from the product unplugged, so that you can dispense hot water in a garden or balcony away from a power source or in times of disaster.

Lever-type electric-powered dispensing
Cordless air dispensing

Hot water measuring function (only for electric-powered dispensing)

The boiler automatically measures water and shows the level on the LCD display when you want to make a cup of instant soup, etc. The amount of hot water supplied that is shown on the display can be used as a guide for making tasty food.

*The photo shows the indication when about 170 mL of hot water is dispensed.
There may be some error depending on the volume of water to be dispensed or the way of pouring.

Large volume & slow dispensing

The dispensing speed can be switched between two levels.

“Slow dispensing” when a small amount of hot water is needed for soup or coffee.
Quick “large-volume dispensing” when a large amount of hot water is needed for cooking and food preparation.

Easy-to-operate lever-type electric-powered dispensing

You can easily dispense hot water with a wide-lever that is easy to press from either the right or left side.

Big-letter operation panel and clear orange LCD

It is easy to operate since it has big letters and a clear orange LCD.

Kitchen timer function

This function is convenient to use as a guide for boiling pasta.

Indication of minutes till boil

You can check the minutes till boiling at a glance.

Water level gauge with a wide window and red ball

The gauge allows you to easily see the remaining water volume.

Safe functions

“Prevention of empty burning”

The water boiler detects when it boils dry and shuts off automatically.

“Electric-powered dispensing with auto-lock function”

The water boiler is automatically locked a while after dispensing.
(Air dispensing is manually operated)

“Tilt lock function”*

Hot water spillage is minimized if the kettle is tilted.

“Lock function”*

Hot water spillage is minimized if the kettle tips over.

“Child lock”

All keys can be locked so that small children cannot operate them.

*Notes
“For electric-powered dispensing” Even when the operation keys are in the locked state (dispensing function is disabled), tilting or tipping over the main body may cause hot water to come out from the spout, which can cause scalding.
“For air dispensing” Even when the dispense button stopper is in the locked state (dispensing function is disabled), tilting or tipping over the main body may cause the hot water to come out from the spout, resulting in a scald.
