A healthy recipe using plant-based milk.

A HEALTHY AND VEGAN FRIENDLY BEVERAGE

Almond milk is a plant based milk that has a slightly sweet and nutty taste. It’s become a popular beverage because of its nutritional components and the fact that it’s 100% vegan. For those suffering from lactose intolerance or those who are on a plant based or vegan diet, almond milk is a great dairy-free alternative. It’s delicious on its own, can be enjoyed with cereal and oatmeal, and can be added to baked goods such as cookies and cakes. It’s also delicious in smoothies, coffees, and teas.

HOW TO MAKE ALMOND MILK FROM SCRATCH

The steps to making this recipe are very simple and easy to follow! Start by placing the almonds in a bowl and add enough water to cover them and let them sit overnight. The next day, drain the almonds and add them to the blender along with 2 cups of water. Turn the speed dial to 7 or 8 and blend until the mixture is liquid. Drain the almond milk through a cheesecloth and store it in a pitcher or glass container. It will last in the fridge for about 5 days.
