A SWEET AND CREAMY SPINACH SMOOTHIE

The best smoothies are super creamy. And there’s nothing more creamy in the natural world than the humble avocado. Mix that avocado with spinach, and you’ve got a powerhouse of healthy greens and antioxidants at your fingertips. And just because a smoothie is green doesn’t mean it isn’t sweet! We love using bananas to make make sweet smoothies. In the case of this avocado smoothie, we’re doubling down on the natural sweetness with honey – and a touch of lemon for bright acidity. Add your favorite protein powder for a pre-gym elixir – or as a recovery drink for those growing muscles.

HOW TO MAKE AN AVOCADO PROTEIN SMOOTHIE

This is when having the right blender makes life easy. Just load all the smoothie ingredients into the jar of your Tiger blender and mix for 90 seconds on the highest speed setting. That’s it. This protein smoothie tastes best cold – so if you’re drinking it on the go, toss it in a travel mug and hit the road. The gym awaits! Of course, there’s nothing wrong with kicking your feet up and savoring every sip in front of the TV (that’s how we roll sometimes too).

TIPS AND VARIATIONS

  • Make it vegan. For a plant based smoothie, simply switch the dairy milk for oat milk or almond milk. And swap out the honey for agave nectar instead.
  • Change the texture. For a thinner smoothie, add a little extra milk or water. For a thicker smoothie (one you can eat with a spoon) use half the milk.
  • Add zing with ginger. If you like a bit of heat, add some freshly grated ginger to the jar before blending.
