NATURALLY SWEET. PACKED WITH PROTEIN

We’ve got a slight gripe with a lot of protein powders. While they’re fantastic for building muscle and replenishing your body after a strenuous workout, some of them taste, ahem… not great. Blueberry smoothie to the rescue! It’s icy cold and sweetened by nature. We’re using honey to compliment the sweet-tartness of fresh blueberries. Added bonus: this iconic flavor profile is the proverbial spoonful of sugar that helps the medicine go down. Whether it’s magic or science, we couldn’t even taste the whey protein in the smoothies we made during testing. That’s a huge win.

HOW TO MAKE A BLUEBERRY PROTEIN SMOOTHIE

The secret to perfectly blended smoothies is having a blender that makes short work of everything you put in the jar. For this recipe, simply toss all the ingredients into the jar of your Tiger blender for about 80 seconds with the speed dial set to 10. That’s it! Your work is done. Incidentally, this is the perfect time to take your first sip and realize what a great day today is gonna be.

TIPS AND VARIATIONS

  • Use frozen blueberries. A great hack for upping the fruit content and using less ice is to use frozen fruit.
  • Change the fruit. Instead of blueberries, use whatever is in season – and the fruit you like best. Strawberries, mango and bananas are all great choices.
  • Make it vegan. Use a plant milk – like almond milk or oat milk – instead of the traditional dairy. And swap out the honey for agave nectar.
  • Great on the go. Whether we’re making a kale smoothie to take on a bike ride, or an icy and tropical pineapple smoothie to beat the summer heat – there’s no need to down a smoothie as soon as it’s made. We chuck it in an insulated travel mug and hit the road. It’ll stay perfectly cold.
