Matcha Affogato (Italian Ice Cream Dessert)

A special collaboration recipe with Yamamasa Koyamaen

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 tbsp Matcha (powder) of your choice
  • 2/3 cup (5.29 oz) Water
  • 1 1/4 cups (10.58 oz) Freshly Boiled Water
  • 1 quart of Vanilla Ice Cream

Directions

  • Serve 1 scoop of ice cream into each bowl.
  • Place water into the container, add matcha and firmly secure the lid.
  • Turn the dial to start the blender and set the speed to “1”. Blend for 15 seconds. Once a certain amount of matcha is mixed in, turn the dial to start the blender and set the speed to “8”. Blend for 20 seconds.
  • Transfer contents to a separate bowl, add freshly boiled water, mix, and finally pour over the ice cream.

We recommend to use OGURAYAMA from Yamamasa Koyamaen (ceremonial grade) for a richer flavor, or MATSUKAZE from Yamamasa Koyamaen (Latte Grade) for a strong flavor.
